Eva Longoria: ‘I’m haunted by my crop top shame’

Actress Eva Longoria is still processing the horror of her many crop top fashion faux pas.

Before she became a household name on TV series Desperate Housewives in 2004, the gorgeous Latina spent many years appearing on red carpets with her belly on display, and, in hindsight, she wishes she had recruited a fashion professional.

“This (crop top era) preceded my stylist,” the 42-year-old tells Health magazine of her fashion regrets. “There was a Tomb Raider premiere (in 2001) where I wore all leather. It was very appropriate for Tomb Raider, but it was almost like I was going to a theme party…

“There is a decade of me just showing my stomach. Like, ‘OK, Eva, can you stop wearing a crop top? Must you wear a crop top on every red carpet you go to?'”

Despite her new found distaste for the crop top look, Eva has maintained her strong abdominal muscles over the years, although she dreads doing the exercise required to keep her stomach toned and flab-free.

“I don’t enjoy working out,” she explains. “I like the way I feel after working out. I always wish my trainer doesn’t show up. I’m always like, ‘I hope he cancels, I hope he cancels,,,'”

However, being healthy and in top shape helps Eva focus on what she loves to do the most – spend time with her husband Jose Baston, a Mexican businessman she married last year (16).

“My husband (makes me the happiest),” she smiles. “Hearing him breathe makes me happy. It’s not like, ‘Oh, I love marriage’,’ I love being married to him. He’s just… I can’t even believe we found each other.”
