Emily Ratajkowski avoided wedding day fuss with simple look

Emily Ratajkowski felt empowered after creating her own simple look for her wedding day.

The model and actress married producer Sebastian Bear-McClard in February (18) and surprised many with her fashion choice for the big day.

The brunette beauty wore a simple mustard-coloured Zara jacket, rather than a custom-made designer gown, and admits she’s still very happy with her look.

“I was not a Pinterest bride,” she tells Glamour magazine, referring to the social media site used by brides-to-be to create their perfect wedding day look.

The Gone Girl star chose her low-key outfit, so she wouldn’t look like a model bride, and the 27 year old admits she also found it refreshing to make her own fashion and beauty choices for the big day – without the aid of a stylist.

“I do so much glam, I do fittings once a week so for me it was just so nice to throw on a Zara suit that I loved, do my own hair and make-up – I always feel the most confident when I do it myself – and not have to have the fussiness of being a bride,” she tells the publication.

That doesn’t mean the star doesn’t enjoy her time in front of the camera, frequently taking to Instagram to stage jaw-dropping images of herself – something she approaches like an art project.

“Glam allows me to push a different persona every day and my Instagram is me taking a character and curating her life,” she says. “I treat it like an art project; it’s a different person every day.”

But the brunette doesn’t always feel beautiful and admits there are days when she feels less comfortable in her own skin.

“I have days when I literally cannot look in the mirror because I am sick of myself,” she reveals. “I don’t like how I look or I want to change certain things about myself. We are stuck inside one body, we can’t see ourselves and we have no perspective on it.”
