Actress Daisy Ridley became a Minion for the night after a homemade turmeric mask turned her face yellow.
The British actress rose to fame in Star Wars: The Force Awakens last year (15), but in a new Instagram video, it looks like Daisy is vying for a role in the next Minions animated adventure.
“So I’m having a slight (night)mare because I googled ‘at home remedies for skin’ and I may have been slightly liberal with the turmeric,” she said as part of the footage, in which the actress appeared with her face covered in a thick yellow mixture. “Now my hands are dyed yellow and I have filming tomorrow – as you can hear I’ve been working really hard and lost my voice.
“We do have filming tomorrow and it’s not Minions 2 it’s Star Wars Episode 8, so I’ll keep you posted everyone, because this could be a really bad thing, or a really good thing…”
Daisy is always looking for new ways to care for her skin, after revealing earlier this month (Jun16) she has battled endometriosis and polycycstic ovaries since she was 15, and her health took its toll on her self-esteem when she was a teenager.
Her condition flared up again last year (15), while she was promoting Star Wars, which turned her into an international celebrity.
“8 years down the line, pain was back (more mild this time!) and my skin was THE WORST,” she wrote. “I’ve tried everything: products, antibiotics, more products, more antibiotics and all that did was left my body in a bit of a mess. Finally found out I have polycycstic ovaries and that’s why it’s bad.”
She admits that feeling self-conscious has left her confidence “in tatters”, adding, “I hate wearing make up but I currently don’t want to leave the house without it on.”
As well as trying out home remedies like her turmeric facemask disaster in the hope of being a “squeaky clean clear skinned goddess”, Daisy insists she is confident in medicine and technology and revealed progress is being made by those trying to help her.
“With some help from a dermatologist and cutting out dairy (waah, except for spontaneous ice creams) and cutting down sugar (bigger waah but gotta do what you’ve gotta do). Finally. Finally…,” she added.
