Cate Blanchett prefers to wear fragrances which develop over the course of a day.
The Australian actress has built up a reputation for her impeccable sense of style, and always looks polished when wearing couture on the red carpet or relaxed denim while off-duty.
When it comes to her choice of perfume, Cate shares that she is as specific with scents as she is with clothes, and has few go-to favourites.
“When choosing a fragrance I like a scent that develops over time,” she told U.K. Elle magazine. “I currently oscillate between Giorgio Armani Si Rose Signature Eau de a Parfum and Si Intense Eau De Parfum.”
Cate has been the face of Giorgio Armani’s Si since 2013, and is fond of the perfume’s feminine fragrance including top notes of Sicilian bergamot and mandarin oil, as well as blackcurrant liqueur, rose, neroli and Egyptian jasmine. But the 48-year-old’s passion for scent extends back to her childhood, and the fragrances associated with the flowers and trees in the family home in Melbourne.
“Scent is intensely personal for me. It’s a receptacle for memories of the past, and those yet to be made. The most nostalgic smell for me has to be eucalyptus in the Australian summer, and mother and grandmother’s perfumes, which I’d steal spritzes of when I was growing up,” she shared.
When it comes to the mother-of-four’s daily beauty routine, she abides by a less is more philosophy.
When she’s not shooting a film, the blonde beauty will simply apply some SK-II Facial Treatment Essence, a high-factor facial SPF and a little mascara.
“If I could use only one hair product it would be Philip Kingsley Elasticizer, which keeps my hair strong and healthy,” Cate added.
