Carrie Underwood’s busy schedule causes her to cut workouts

Carrie Underwood has cut her workout regime from six sessions a week to just one or two.

The 34-year-old singer certainly has her hands full trying to stay on top of her personal and professional lives, so finding time for a sweat-busting gym session can be tough.

During an interview with E! News, Carrie admitted that her busy lifestyle has led to her culling her ambitious exercise schedule.

“I used to work out six days a week, but now that’s a little rare,” she said. “Sometimes it’s one or two times a week, and that just kind of has to be okay. It is okay, because whatever I’m doing that’s keeping me out of the gym is important.”

In addition to her music, Carrie has found success with her CALIA by Carrie Underwood activewear line. She also needs to set aside time to nurture her bond with two-year-old son Isaiah, who she has with husband Mike Fisher, but jokes that the tot is happy to grab a moment with his mother whenever he can.

“He probably will, 90 per cent of the time, wander into my workout session,” she smiled of Isaiah. “But it’s nice to be able to stop and give him a kiss.”

Isaiah certainly has a lot to look up to when it comes to seeing his parents in action in the gym, considering Mike has only recently given up his professional hockey playing career. But despite Mike’s athleticism, it seems even he can’t keep up with his wife when she’s breaking a sweat.

“Mainly, when we work out together, we’re just working out in the same space,” Carrie laughed. “But I will say, the other day I was doing the ab wheel… Later on that day, Mike said something like, ‘I’m not ready for the ab wheel yet.’”
