Cardi B has inspired a new lipstick colour in Tom Ford’s beauty line.
The American fashion designer unveiled his latest collection as part of New York Fashion Week last Wednesday night (05Sep18), with the Bodak Yellow rapper perched on the front row at the Park Avenue Armory alongside other A-list guests including Hailee Steinfeld, Tom Hanks, Elizabeth Debicki, Paris Jackson and Henry Golding.
Ford’s beauty brand launched the new Boys & Girls lipstick range after the spectacle, with a company representative taking to Instagram on Sunday to announce that Cardi was getting her own lip shade – a bold cobalt blue hue.
“Meet Cardi. #TFBOYSANDGIRLS #TFLIP#TOMFORDBEAUTY,” an image of a bright blue kiss mark was captioned.
Cardi, real name Belcalis Almanzar, also confirmed the collaboration on her own social media accounts.
“Thank you so much @tomfordand @tomfordbeauty!!! So excited for this and what’s to come!!” the 25-year-old star wrote alongside a snap of the lipstick.
Cardi’s lipstick is priced at $36 (£30). However, it is currently sold out on the Tom Ford Beauty website.
The Boys & Girls lipstick range is named after men and women designer Ford admires, with shades paying tribute to the likes of Julianne Moore, Kaia Gerber, Dakota Johnson and Carine Roitfeld.
News of Cardi’s venture into the beauty world comes just days after she was involved in an incident with her rap rival Nicki Minaj. According to TMZ, Cardi approached the Queen hitmaker over “lies” while they were both in attendance at a Harper’s Bazaar event held at The Plaza Hotel on Friday, with the new mother, who gave birth to daughter Kulture in July, allegedly “lunging” at Nicki.
She was also filmed throwing a shoe at the hip-hop star, and during the scuffle, was elbowed in the face by a security guard – leaving a bump over her left eye. Nicki has reportedly decided not to press charges.
