Cardi B is unimpressed by how much the skin around her new tattoo has been peeling.
Last month, the Bodak Yellow rapper took to social media to share a series of images of her colourful floral inking, which extends down her back and onto her thigh.
But on Tuesday night, Cardi uploaded a series of snaps to her Instagram Stories showing how dramatically her skin was peeling, particularly on a patch of the tattoo on her leg rendered to look like green and blue peacock feathers.
“The peeling process, yucky,” she sighed. “It looks so nasty. Colourful – but nasty. The peeling is disgusting.”
While it can appear alarming, it’s a normal part of the healing process for skin to peel after a tattoo session.
When unveiling her new body art in May, Cardi credited tattoo artist Jamie Schene and revealed that the vivid design had taken several months to complete.
“Okay guys! Soooo here it is! It took me several months but I’m finally finished. This is my back tattoo! It goes from the top of my back to the middle of my thigh. Thank you @jamie_schene,” the 27-year-old posted alongside a close-up video of the tattoo.
Meanwhile, Cardi has been keeping fans updated on her life at home during the coronavirus crisis, and on Monday, demonstrated how she makes a DIY hair mask for herself and her 23-month-old daughter Kulture using mayonnaise, banana, castor oil, avocado, argan oil, egg, and honey.
“This is really how my hair is – this is my hair texture,” she told viewers while showing off her long natural locks. “My daughter’s hair is curly, but my s**t don’t get curly at all, it’s just straight like this, but I still need moisture. It’s a good hair mask to help your hair grow. All the good things that you put in your body, you gotta put in your hair.”
