Anya Taylor-Joy’s artistic credentials helped with new Viktor & Rolf campaign

New Viktor & Rolf campaign star Anya Taylor-Joy has described the gig as a natural fit because she sees herself as an artist.

The Split actress was recently unveiled as the face of Dutch design duo Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren’s latest Flowerbomb scent, Midnight.

Talking to The Hollywood Reporter about the modelling gig, Anya said she loved working with the former Arnhem Academy of Art and Design pupils.

“I consider myself more of an artist than an actor, and what (Viktor and Rolf are doing) is art as well — they create a work of art around you,” she smiled.

In the images, the 22-year-old wears a number of high-fashion ensembles while holding up the new bottle.

Shot by famed fashion photographers Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, Anya admitted she totally got the moody black and white setting.

“It’s a bit fierce and a bit feline, and about not feeling uncomfortable with your dark, shadowy side. I definitely felt like I could relate to that,” the star shared.

Anya also opened up about how important fragrance is to her.

“I always look at scent as a passport or a fingerprint of a person or a place or time. When I was younger, my father travelled a lot for work, and whenever he came home, I could always tell which country he’d been to by his cologne. Scent carries really transformative powers, and I love exploring that,” she mused.
