Anya Taylor-Joy wouldn’t be seen without lipstick on because she finds a splash of lip colour helps “anchor” any beauty look.
The actress has risen up the ranks of Hollywood since appearing in 2015 film The Witch, staring in recent hits Split and follow-up, Glass.
Anya is making a name for herself as one to watch on the red carpet too and has now shared that selecting a lip colour is always the starting point for her make-up artist.
“I’m always going to be a lipstick girl because my eyes are really big and I’m really fair, so lipstick anchors it around a solid colour,” she said in an interview with British Vogue, adding that she is a big fan of Charlotte Tilbury’s Bond Girl Lipstick, a berry shade with a hint of brown. “When you’ve been – in the space of three weeks – a short bobbed brunette, a redhead and then a blonde, and you’re travelling all the time, that lipstick is so solid.”
Anya went on to explain that she swears by using Chanel and True Botanicals products as part of her skincare regime.
But when her skin is especially dry from travelling, she will mix up a special mask made of two favourite formulas.
“If I’m going to treat myself, I make my own face mask of Bio-Oil mixed with Egyptian Magic. When you wake up the next morning you look like you’ve had 14 hours of sleep,” the 22-year-old insisted.
Elsewhere in the chat, Anya spoke about her new gig as the face of Viktor & Rolf’s latest fragrance, Flowerbomb Midnight. The star is the first celebrity to front a campaign for the perfume, and she is thrilled to be working a brand which she has admired for a long time.
“I have a very pinpointed memory of understanding what the brand was from a very young age because I was very attracted to the packaging of the original Flowerbomb fragrance,” she smiled. “But the fact I’m not just the face of Flowerbomb but also Flowerbomb Midnight, which feels like a devilish little sister, is amazing.”
