Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is planning on making WrestleMania history in the US spring of 2016.
Before starring in Hollywood blockbusters, the former professional wrestler was a star athlete of the WWE, battling in the ring under pseudonym ‘The Rock‘.
And fans who miss the drama that ensued when The Rock faced opponents are in for a treat, as Johnson announced via his Instagram profile recently he is going to turn up in full force at WrestleMania 32, which takes place in Arlington, Texas on April 3, 2016.
Attached to a video clip of himself slamming bodies in a match, Johnson wrote on the picture-sharing website: “IT’S OFFICIAL: People’s Champ is coming home to do 3 things with THE PEOPLE: Set an ALL-TIME attendance record, ELECTRIFY Dallas like never before & make all time #WRESTLEMANIA history.
“And we have FUN. Ok that’s four things but you know what the hell The Rock’s sayin’… THANK YOU #WWEUniverse! It’s always an honor coming home and I wouldn’t miss it for the world. #PeoplesChamp4L #MakingElectrifyingHistory #SmackethLaidDownOnThyCandyA*ses”.
Johnson‘s acting career took off in 2001 after he landed a part in The Mummy Returns and his status in Hollywood continues to rise after starring in blockbusters such as Furious 7.
He will next be seen in Central Intelligence, an action comedy also starring funnyman Kevin Hart that will reach American theatres on June 17, 2016.
