Proteas Women’s leg spinner Sune Luus is celebrating her 23rd birthday today. We had the amazing opportunity to interview her and find out about some of her loves and likes.
Q. What do you love most about cricket?
A. Cricket gives you so many opportunities to meet new people, travel the world and to express yourself.
Q. What is the funniest moment you have experienced on the cricket field?
A. When Lizelle Lee fields the ball with everything except her hands in the point region.
Q. What is your greatest experience in your cricket career so far?
A. My greatest experience was the World Cup semi-finals we played in 2017.
Q. What is it like being part of the Proteas Women’s team?
It really is awesome being part of the Proteas Women’s team. It’s a dream come true.
Q. How do you like to spend your free time?
A. I love to read, hang out with friends and play some friendly tennis.
Q. Where is the most interesting place you have toured with the Proteas’ squad?
A. Doha, Qatar.
Q. Which is your favourite cricket stadium in the world?
Newlands, Cape Town
Q. What is the best advice that someone has given you that has helped you to this day?
A. To simplify everything I do and just enjoy it.
Q. Who is your favourite player in women’s cricket at the moment and why?
A. I don’t have anyone specific at the moment, women’s cricket is growing so quickly and the standard is being set by almost all the players.
Q. What would you like to achieve in the year ahead?
A. I would like to be a more consistent player and contribute whenever I get the opportunity.
