Beyoncé Remembers Global Citizen Performance With ‘iWalk Ye Phara’ Highlights Reel

It was just a few days ago when South African fans finally got to see Beyoncé and Jay-Z perform live in South Africa at the global Global Citizen concert. The duo performed a near two-hour set as they closed off the festival which saw acts like Ed Sheeran, Sho Madjozi, Pharrell Williams, Cassper Nyovest and more perform in front of over 80 000 people who attended after taking action for change.

The campaign saw pledges of over $7 billion come through and Beyoncé has finally taken to her Instagram page to relive the incredible performance and celebrate the massive amount of money pledged to help make the world a better place.

The star performed some of her greatest hits as she took to the stage with her husband and gave fans an epic performance which mimicked most of her ‘On The Run II’ tour. Beyoncé also performed ‘Perfect’ with Ed Sheeran live for the very first time which made international headlines.

Taking to her Instagram page, Beyoncé says that “After settling in at home from a beautiful trip to South Africa and India, I am still in awe that 7.1 BILLION dollars was raised to aid Global Citizen in its efforts to eradicate extreme poverty. Now their efforts and the money raised will help improve education, healthcare, sanitation, women’s rights, and countless other causes for millions across the globe.”

Beyoncé added that “I felt so much positivity and pride in the audience at Global Citizen: Mandela 100,” continued the 37-year-old “Halo” singer. “Madiba, Johannesburg, and all of my African sisters and brothers, we hope we made you as proud as you all make us. South Africa was an extraordinary trip for me and my family. God bless.”

What made the clip even more incredible is that she used DJ Maphorisa, Moonchild Sanelly and K.O.’s hit single ‘iWalk Ye Phara’ as the soundtrack to the video – showcasing the song and local music to her 121 million followers.

After settling in at home from a beautiful trip to South Africa and India, I am still in awe that 7.1 BILLION dollars was raised to aid Global Citizen in its efforts to eradicate extreme poverty. I’d like to give my praise and respect to all the speakers, performers, and volunteers who donated their time to contribute to making positive change.  Every person in the audience at FNB Stadium earned a seat because they generously donated their time to help their community. Now their efforts and the money raised will help improve education, healthcare, sanitation, women’s rights, and countless other causes for millions across the globe.
