Babes Wodumo & Mampintsha Drop Shocking New Collaboration

Earlier this year, Babes Wodumo made headlines after going live on Instagram in what appeared to be the middle of a domestic abuse in by the hands of her boyfriend and record producer Mampintsha. The incident caused a frenzy on social media with many fans and celebrities calling for Mampintsha to be arrested for beating the pop star.

Now, the duo has caused another stir after collaborating on a new single titled ‘Khona ingane lay’ndlini’ – a line used by the record producer in the shocking video.

Mmusi Maimane, Prince Kaybee and the EFF political party have called out the duo for collaborating on music after the violent assault and it’s aftermath. “The actions of Mampintsha are repulsive and disgusting. This happens before Friday the 8th of March where women around the world will be commemorating International Women’s Day which is a focal point for women’s rights. Women deserve to live full and healthy lives, free of all forms of violence against their bodies and emotions. We call on all South Africans to do a public arrest of Mandla Maphumulo when they see him and take him to a police station. This is so he can answer for his crimes of woman abuse. We send our solidarity to Bongekile Simelane and encourage all women who find themselves in the same situation never to be silenced or threatened, but to speak out against violence” the EFF said on Twitter.

Now, the duo has released the track’s official music video which caused even more controversy as it relives Babes’ horrific incident in the hands of her lover. The video shows Babes and Mampintsha getting into a heated argument before she gets in a car and flees.

Mampintsha’s manager Lindo “Dogg DBN” Buthelezi in a recent interview says that despite the public spat, the couple are back together and are working their relationship out. “When you are in a relationship with someone and you have different personalities, things can happen. People are waiting for them to fight and go at each other, but they are in love,” he says. “This is real. The love is real. This was not fabricated. We are not playing anyone for fools.”
