It’s always good to detox a little – be it after the festive season or just when life has changed up your diet a little. We steal some secrets from the stars themselves – nine celebs share their detox tips.
The sexy Hollywood actress, who doesn’t seem to have aged one bit, revealed that her secret may be a detoxing smoothie. Sources say: “The drink is made up of fresh, organic vegetables – beetroot, cucumbers, spinach, garlic, carrots, celery and kale.” This wonder drink is said to have amazing health benefits, including preventing bloating, easing water retention and cleaning toxins from the blood.
How does the Victoria’s Secret model detox? According to her she has to be strict with her health and beauty regime to ensure her skin and hair stays glowing. “To keep my skin in check I always eat lots of greens, take Chlorella supplements and drink plenty of water,” she says.
The gorgeous model-turned-TV host and mom-of-four reportedly drinks one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar before meals, as it reportedly acts as an appetite suppressant. Sources say it’s also good for detoxing, since it helps to cleanse your digestive system and restore a natural PH to the body.
The Hunger Games star’s personal trainer, Dalton Wong, reveals the secret to getting rid of bloating. “I gave Jennifer some Epsom salts to bathe in, which really helps to get rid of any bloating in the body. It’s a great trick that anyone can use.”
It’s no secret that Beyoncé loves her detoxes, and she’s a huge fan of the lemon detox, which provides great results. Experts suggest you start your day with a mug of hot water and a slice of lemon. Packed with the antioxidant vitamin C, it helps to flush our toxins from the body and cleanse your system. Plus, it restores a natural PH balance, meaning your body is better equipped to stay healthy. Beyoncé also enjoys a 22-day vegan detox when she’s getting ready for a big show or new movie.
She could very well be Hollywood’s detox queen, say insiders. One of her detoxes is Junger’s 21-day cleanse diet, which consists of a shake for breakfast, lunch from a list of approved foods, and a shake for dinner.
The actress is another supporter of the vegan detox diet and even launched her own plan, The Kind Diet (www.Amazon.com). While we’re not sure how kind it is, it reportedly helps you lose weight and improves your skin. Alicia’s advice is to choose kind over ‘nasty foods’ – for her, those include meat, dairy, white sugar and processed foods.
Also a big fan of detox plans, the Les Mis star’s favourite pre-red-carpet plan is famous personal trainer David Kirsch’s 48-hour detox, which involves ingesting LemonAid (a concentrate of lemon, maple syrup and cayenne pepper) four times a day.
