These Are The 50 Most Played Songs On South African Radio In 2018

2018 has certainly been a massive year for music. On the international front, we saw acts like Ariana Grande and Drake smash various streaming platform records and locally, gqom and house music proved to be more popular than ever. Now, in a new list released by RAMS, we finally know the biggest tracks on local radio over the past 12 months.

Lady Zamar effortlessly took first place as ‘Collide’ became the most played song in the country with over 12 000 spins over the past 12 months. The song was also recently crowned Spotify’s most-streamed local song of 2018 easily making it the biggest local song of the year. Prince Kaybee came in second with Club Controller and DJ Ganyani’s ‘Emazulwini’ came in third place.

Other local acts charting includes Shekhinah’s ‘Suited’ at number five, Holly Ray’s ‘Deeper’ at number seven, AKA’s ‘Fela In Versace’ at number 20, Jeremy Loops’ ‘Waves’ at number 25 and Mafikizolo’s ‘Love Potion’ at number 50.

On the international front, David Guetta and Black Coffee’s smash hit ‘Drive’ comes in at number four while John Legend’s ‘A Good Night’ glides in at number eight. Bruno Mars and Cardi B’s ‘Finesse’ comes through at number 13. Drake’s ‘God’s Plan’, Ed Sheeran’s ‘Perfect’ at number 38 and Camila Cabello’s ‘Havana’ at number 40.
