Slay Your Date Night

WHEN it comes to getting ready for date night, girls have more issues than Vogue: should I style my hair into an elaborate updo or should I leave it loose and sexy? Classic smokey or edgy cat eye? Well, we’re here to keep you on-track and on-schedule with you big date plans.

The Week Before

SINCE you don’t want to irritate or cause skin to break out, use a face mask a week before. Choose a mask that targets any problem areas you might have. Take care of your body. A fully body scrub doubles as a massage and exfoliation treatment. Hydrate with a moisture rich body lotion or oil. Take care of your mani and pedi. Secure a brow plan by making a stop at the waxing or threading technician to remove any unwanted hair. And then…relax.

On V-Day

GO through your usual getting ready routine: shower, wash your hair, cleanse your face, shave your legs. Then the fun starts: hair and make-up! Smooth out your complexion and hide any blemishes. For date night we recommend loose and sexy waves. Effortless hair is key. For make-up, start with a light coloured shadow on the inner corners of the eyes and gradually transition to a darker colour on the outer corners. Avoid any harsh edges by ensuring that the shadow is properly blended. Sweep on a barely there blush for a softly flushed cheek.

Just Before Leaving

IF red’s not your colour, opt for burgundy or plum coloured lips. It’s subtler, but just as daring. Avoid glosses – if the night ends with a kiss, you don’t want to get sticky lipgloss everywhere. Shake out your curls – loose definitely equals sexy. And lastly: don’t forget your scent. Spritz on all the regular places, but also directly onto your hair. Hair carries scent for a really long time. Mysterious, delicious wafts are bound to win you points.

TIP: IF your date involves a candlelit dinner, play up with glowy skin and shimmery shadows to add dimension and reflect light.
