The retired wrestler and football player, now full-time actor has brought warmness into our homes with his full-of-life personality and often family-catering films. In honour of his big day, we look at five of his films that have had the biggest impact on our lives.

The Mummy Returns

The Mummy Returns is a sequel to the 1999 film The Mummy and sees The Rock introduced to the film. When an archaeologist couple’s son finds the Bracelet of Anubis, it locks onto his wrist. A cult resurrects Imhotep, an evil Egyptian high priest, who needs the bracelet to defeat the Scorpion King. The fantasy horror film is written and directed by Stephen Sommers. The cast also includes Brendan Fraser, Rachel Weisz John Hannah and Arnold Vosloo.

The Scorpion King

The Scorpion King is a 2002 American historical-fantasy-action movie directed by Chuck Russell. It is a prequel of The Mummy franchise, which acts as a prologue as it takes place before the events of The Mummy and tells the story of Mathayus and his rise to become the legendary Scorpion King. The film marks Dwayne Johnson’s first lead role alongside Kelly Hu, Grant Heslov, and Michael Clarke Duncan.

Baywatch

Baywatch is a 2017 American action comedy film based on the television series of the same name. It stars. The story follows lifeguard Mitch Buchannon, played by Dwayne Johnson, and his team, which includes Zac Efron and Priyanka Chopra, who must take down a drug lord in an effort to save their beach. Although Baywatch received some negative reviews from critics, The Rock received some praise for his performance.
