Asa Butterfield – Beetroot Crumble

Asa Maxwell Thornton Farr Butterfield is an English actor, who began his acting career at the age of nine in the television drama After Thomas. His upcoming movie is The Space Between Us. In Hebrew, ‘Asa’ means ‘healer’ or ‘physician’, also spelled ‘Ase’ – it appears in the Old Testament to designate the third King of Judah. When he’s not busy, he enjoys playing computer games, listening to hip-hop, drumming, hanging out with his friends and going to the park to play football – and let’s not forget a good helping of beetroot crumble.

Elite-Asa Butterfield, Beetroot Crumble

Ingredients
450g cooked beetroot (peeled and cut into wedges)
100ml Olive oil
Five sprigs of thyme
Salt and pepper
300ml Cream
Three cloves of garlic
80g Parmesan cheese (finely grated)
100g Coarse breadcrumbs (dried)
Zest of one lemon
50g butter

Method
Pre-Heat your oven to 180ºC. Place the beetroot wedges into a baking dish so they fit snugly but are not cramped, and then sprinkle the thyme, salt, pepper and cream over. Next, rub the breadcrumbs, cheese, lemon zest and butter together in a separate dish and cover the beetroot evenly. bake at until brown for about 12 minutes.

Divine and blerry lekker… Especially with a braai!
