The Small Business Corner:
Take The Cake And Eat It Too
WE here at people magazine believe in the small business enterprise as a driver of our economy. We are strong supporters of those individuals who exhibit a strong entrepreneurial spirit. They are also great creators of jobs, no matter how big or small the task, and they often tend to do what they do simply for the love of it. They uplift so many people in this country. It is for this very reason that we feel we need to provide them with as much support we can possibly give.
Who Are They?
Take The Cake And Eat It Too is a home based bakery run by a young woman called Zahrah Cassim. She has had a love of baking from a very young age. She started off with simple pancakes, but she quickly broadened her skills to include cakes and cupcakes. She studied many fields in the creative arena. She worked as a picture researcher for many years, but could not help reverting to her true passion, baking. She did a course on designing wedding cakes and the rest, as they say, is history.
What Do They Do?
Take the Cake And Eat It Too aims to make the world a sweeter place with their baked goods and puts customer satisfaction high on the priority list. They offer delicious baked goods that among others include specialty and novelty cakes (wedding cakes included), cupcakes and novelty biscuits. Custom requests are welcome.
Where Are They Based?
The home-based bakery is located in Johannesburg’s Northcliff suburb. It is a clean and pleasant area where the streets are lined with mammoth green trees that adds an air of tranquillity.
Zahrah is a working mother-to-be than to bring joy and a little sweetness to the world. Her endeavour is a relatively new one, and support will help her greatly. Mostly, however, she wants to serve her clientele who need a pick-me-up after a long day.
How Can You Help?
You can help by lending your support to Zahrah’s business. She can be contacted via e-mail on [email protected] or you can give her a call on 083 300 8860. You can also view her stunning culinary work on the company’s Facebook page or on Instagram by visiting @takethecake_andeatittoo.
