Madge Wallace Beauty Therapy College
For a fabulous birthday treat, my editor organised a full body massage for me at Madge Wallace International College of Skincare & Body Therapy. Situated in Parktown North in Johannesburg, the charming house is set back from the road surrounded by trees and birds.
Inside, a calm and quiet atmosphere greeted me and I was immediately taken into one of the treatment rooms where beauty student, Jomaine Towers made sure I was comfortably attired in a towel and covered in a blanket. Candles flickered and soft music played, soothing away my busy work day nerves!
Jomaine completed a very thorough questionnaire on my health, asking questions about allergies, whether I smoked and drank, did I suffer from any chronic diseases and if I was on any medication. It was impressive to see the attention and care given to my individual state of health before the massage was given. Clearly, each client is treated as an individual and any health concerns are taken into account.
Once the client consultation was done, Jomaine carried out a wonderful, relaxing and soothing full body massage for ¾ of an hour.
I had to tell her the worst part was when it ended! I left feeling very peaceful and relaxed – very different to how I felt when I walked in.
