Adam Levine – Grilled Ribeye
By Vera Fourie
Adam Noah Levine is an American singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, actor, and record producer and is the lead vocalist for the pop rock band Maroon 5. He is married to Behati Prinsloo and they have one daughter, Dusty Rose Levine. He loves, according to sources, nothing better than a good steak on his down time, so that’s what’s inspired this week’s mouth-watering recipe.
“I like to add a lot of honey, because when it chars over the heat, it gets toasty and smoky and just awesome.”
– Adam Levine
Four ribeye steaks
For The Marinade: Ingredients
One cup of Dijon mustard
One cup of honey
Salt, to taste
A generous splash of Worcestershire Sauce
Mix the marinade ingredients in a bowl, pop in the meat, and put into the fridge for at least half an hour. Preheat grill or grill pan to medium-high, remove the chilled meat from the fridge, and grill over a medium-high heat – about four minutes each side for medium-rare. Brush some of the marinade sauce over the steak as it grills. Serve the steaks whole or, for a large group, slice them thinly and arrange on a platter so people can help themselves. The fattier the cut, the better the steak. That’s probably why Adam love ribeyes – because they are the fattiest steaks you could possibly eat. The fatty section is his favourite part! Everyone thinks the fat is awful, but we’ll let you in on a little secret – with honey added to it, it tastes so good it should be illegal!
