Trend To Try: Silver Shimmer

WE all know the fashion formula to create the perfect outfit, but, get this, we’re applying styling tricks to our beauty looks too. With the help of fabulous celebs, we teach you to take part of your outfit and use it as make-up inspo!

IF you’re planning to wear a lot of silver jewellery or a silver dress, top or bottom, then make-up needs to be kept subtle. Or does it…?

Step 1

BUFF a full-coverage foundation onto skin to achieve a smooth, flawless base. Layer powder over for a perfect matte finish.

Step 2

SMOKEY eyes is a make-up look staple. In an outward motion, blend a charcoal shadow onto the eyelid. Tap a metallic silver in the centre of the eyelid to create an additional pop. Smudge a black eye pencil onto the bottom lash line to create hazy depths and dimension in the eye.

Step 3

FINALLY, dot a nude lipstick on the back of the hand and buff the colour on with a finger. Applying like a lip balm creates an ultra-sophisticated look that is muted and natural.

I am Beauty Editor at People Magazine and a make-up artist. I have worked with many celebrities, including, Phumeza Mdaba, Boity, Zuraida Jardine and Rolene Strauss. I always knew I would work in magazines, as I grew up in publishing (my parents are publishers). When I’m not writing beauty or following my passion for make-up, I can be found reading and spending time with family and friends. I am also a tea-lover
