Jam of the Day: Tresor – Remedy

He took home the Best Pop Album at last year’s SAMAs and now, Tresor is back with his highly-anticipated second studio album. The album, titled ‘The Beautiful Madness’, is available for pre-order ahead of its 26 May release and Tresor dropped his comeback single ‘Remedy’. The track serves as the lead single off the star’s new seven-figure deal with VII Recordings and Universal Music – one of the most lucrative deals ever for a South African artist.

‘Remedy’ is the perfect introduction to the new album. The track continues Tresor’s unique take on afro-pop, however, the star takes the song up a notch with some epic guitar riffs, beautiful brass and stronger deep house beats than we’ve ever heard from him before. Not only will the song please his fans but it also shows growth and willingness to experiment – something every all-important sophomore album should do.

Lyrically, the song is simple yet effective – making it a perfect pop track. It’s catchy, bold and different and I have no doubt that the single will be one of Tresor’s strongest to date. “I’m super excited for this new chapter in my musical career. I can’t wait to share my new music and creative direction with music lovers across the globe. I would like to thank Vth SEASON and Universal Music for journeying with me and believing that the best is yet to come,” Tresor says.

Benza of Vth SEASON shares: “We are more than excited to do a follow up album on Tresor’s SAMA Best Pop Winning Album. The album features fresh new music and a music style that will excite his fans from Japan, South Africa, Italy, UK and everywhere… The new project has the backing of VII Recordings and Universal Music, our new Global Partners for this release.”

The single has already been playlisted on stations such as East Coast Radio, 5FM, Highveld, KFM and Heart FM and you’ll be able to hear it on more stations in the coming days. Pre-order ‘The Beautiful Madness’ and get ‘Remedy’ and ‘Speed of Sound’ featuring Da Capo instantly.
