Thembisa Mdoda Talks Love
Mzansi Magic’s Sunday prime time OPW host with the most, Thembisa Mdoda, spoke to us about love. You won’t believe what she had to say!
Thembisa, what is your definition of love?
Love is the answer to any question. Believing on something you can’t see or touch but can feel is proof that love is one hell of a force.
That’s an interesting take on it! So tell us, what do you love most about hosting Our Perfect Wedding?
I love that I can be a vessel between the viewer and the couple. I love that I go on a different journey every episode. Being around people who believe in love every week is amazing for me because I learn so much about love and myself as a person, woman, and artist.
That’s awesome! Which top three couples were your favourite?
Every single couple has a place in my heart. I actually believe I meet them for a reason and I would be short changing them and myself if I didn’t invest in their journey fully. They each had something to teach me.
Love it! Share top three life lessons that you have learnt about love, being in-love and loving someone.
The best thing about love is that we are all still scholars of it. We are all works in progress. The greatest lessons I have learnt and still learning:
1. Communication is very important.
2. There’s no such thing as loving too much too soon.
3. If it doesn’t feel right. It isn’t.
So true. Share some advice about love that you wish your younger self knew.
To trust my instincts and act in the best interest of my heart and no one else. That love is God given so whatever happens in your relationship is between you, your partner and the one who brought him to you. God.
Share a challenging life experience which you’ve had where love conquered all
I think I am living proof that God’s love conquers all.
Amen, sister! So what is your favourite love song of all time?
Bebe Winans – This Song. It gives me goosebumps every time.
Excellent choice! Which love quote gets you every time?
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
That’s 1 Corinthians chapter 13 from the Bible! What is your message to young people and others who may be looking for love?
Loving yourself first attracts the right kind of love. Everything happens in its own time. Trust that you are on the right track regardless.
Stunning! If you were to write a love letter to your future grown twin boys, what would it say?
To my Poonkas,
I love you. You saved my life and everyday I thank God for choosing me for you. Remember to always be kind. To always choose love, and that everything happens for a reason. God will never let you down.
That is so sweet and touching. Thank you so much for the chat Tess! Ladies and gents keep up with her on social media.
