Suzy Mukendi with her mom and dad

Suzy Jessica Mukendi, our lively and larger-than-life Fashion Editor at People Magazine South Africa launched her first ever #RareSparkle fashion collection which was inspired by all those who’ve battled cancer at some point in their lives. The exclusive glitzy and glamourous affair was hosted by Scarlet Ribbon in Stoneridge Shopping Centre, Greenstone, Johannesburg on Saturday 18 March 2017.Suzy passionately shares,”My fashion show was all about showcasing my designs with the focus around cancer. The purpose of the event was to not only support the cause but break away from the stereotype of the fashion industry as well as cancer only being focused on in October. Every day someone is diagnosed with cancer so why should the work and support only be done in October? We are in a society where many people have role models and are influenced by each other. So at the end of the day we have the power to touch lives, challenge them and create a different dialogue.”
